Privacy Policy and GDPR

Introduction

At Baby Care Consultancy we value your privacy and the importance of protecting your data. This policy is to inform you how we collect, store and access your data. Please be assured that any personal information you provide will be kept confidential.

In accordance with GDPR 2018 you must be informed what data will be requested from you, how that data will be processed or shared and what your rights are in relation to that data. I will only request information that I need in order to provide my services effectively and safely. I will retain your consultation data for a period of 25 years as per Government requirements. Your information will not be used for marketing purposes.

What personal data do we collect and how

The data we hold is predominately provided by you either via the consultation forms or during the consultations.

The data held about you will include but is not limited to:

  • Parent(s) name,

  • DOB,

  • Address

  • Contact details

  • Name and contact details of key person

  • GP / Health Visitor / Midwifery Team details

  • Your child’s name (if known)

  • Their sex (if known)

  • Their date of birth or expected due date,

  • Medical, surgical and breastfeeding history,

  • Consultation notes

  • May include a baby’s weight chart

  • Care plan and a report to your GP

  • Any referral letters received or sent

  • Any photo's sent electronically

To provide effective breastfeeding support, we need some personal information from you. This information allows me assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of you and your baby and provide a plan of care. It is best practice and I am required to keep accurate records by my governing bodies and also in the case of any investigations.

Information may be shared with your health professionals (see above) this will only be with your consent as indicated on the booking form. The exception to this will be in cases of safeguarding or national security. You have the right to request access to your personal data. You also have the right to correction of that data and deletion (where appropriate). I reserve the right to contact you in the future regarding other services.​​​​​​​​

How to complain

 

If you are not happy with how your data is managed, you have a right to complain.

The General Data Protection Regulation also gives you right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority Baby Care Consultancy is registered with the Information Commissioner Office. This is the supervisory authority in the UK  they can be contacted at https://ico.org.uk/concerns or telephone: 0303 123 1113.

What is the data used for and information sharing

Cookies
